Kurt's Marine Competition Center of Brick NJ originated in 1980 with engine builder/ offshore racer Kurt Berger. For almost three decades, Kurt ran the business with the primary focus being the world of offshore powerboat racing and performance pleasure boat enthusiasts.
In 2008, Kurt sold the business to long time business associate and Wehrlen Bros. Marina owner Larry Wehrlen, who now runs Bandit Performance Marine with his son Andrew Wehrlen.
Bandit Performance Marine continues in the tradition of offshore boat racing and performance power boating, building engines that can withstand the extreme demands that are inherent in this motor sport. Every boat that comes through the shop, race or pleasure, is treated like a world class race machine. The shop is staffed with an experienced crew dedicated to the work we do, covering all aspects in race/performance boat work.
We are committed to providing excellent service, quality work, and piece of mind to every customer that we deal with. Our goal is that whatever comes out of our shop should run and look as good as we can make it. The passion that people feel for their offshore machines, is the same kind of passion that we as a shop, feel about the work we do.

This super clean 2001 Black Thunder 430 GT with Triple 575SC hp engines has always been professionally maintained. Nothing spared when it comes to performance & luxury. Only 175 original hours on the Triple 575SC mercury racing engines running on pumped gas, Super Duty IMCO SCX drives mated to 5 blade props. This vessel is not for the faint of heart, 94 MPH running through 5 foot seas. Custom red, white & blue graphics with an American eagle ripping through her design. This vessel has been featured in awarded winning boat shows. Also available is a matching tri-axle trailer, and an Air-berth hoist and storage system. Complete TRS to Bravo conversion package. This is a TRS gimbal fitted with a bravo bell housing and gimbal bearing, along with modified and rebuilt bravo drives. The transom assembly will bolt right on to a TRS cut transom. You will need to eliminate transmissions and move motors back, or go to a short drive shaft. This system worked beautifully for years on a 33' Stuphen. This is a pair of modifed Bravo drives, two complete transom assemblies.
